The Metropolitan Area of Grenoble and the CSTB begin a Research & Development partnership. On January 16, 2018, Étienne Crépon, president of the CSTB, and Christophe Ferrari, president of the Metropolitan Area, signed a 3-year partnership agreement in Grenoble.
The CSTB supporting the “Big BIM Competition 2016”
Provide guidance to architects and architecture students in using the building information modeling (BIM) approach when taking on construction and development projects: that’s the objective of the BIM Competition 2016. Initiated by Polantis architects with the city of Bobigny, the competition is sponsored by the CSTB. It differs from traditional architecture competitions in that it uses the IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) open format for digital modeling and an information database, which guarantees good application of the BIM method.
Carnot Institutes strengthen their international presence
With nationwide success over the last 10 years, the network of Carnot Institutes, to which the CSTB belongs, is currently developing its research partnerships internationally to improve its support of companies that must operate in increasingly global markets.
University of La Rochelle, CNRS and the CSTB jointly planning research
The University of La Rochelle, the CNRS and the CSTB are using their combined expertise for research on buildings. In Paris, on June 17, 2015, Étienne Crépon, president of CSTB, Gérard Blanchard, president of the University of La Rochelle and Marie-Yvonne Perrin, deputy scientific director of the CNRS Institute for INSIS (Engineering and Systems Sciences), signed an agreement for a research partnership focusing on four areas: sustainable buildings; uses, health and comfort in indoor environments and design methods; risk mitigation; and digital simulation and tools.
National conference on lead and lead poisoning
Now that the Saturn’Inf, Saturnin and Plomb-Habitat projects have ended, the purpose of the conference is to present and put into perspective their research results then share the methods of operational implementation of what was learned with stakeholders involved in lead exposure control policy.
Rendez-vous Carnot on October 8 and 9
The CSTB Carnot Institute is participating in the 7th edition of Rendez-vous Carnot, on October 8 and 9 in Lyon. The major contract Research and Development event for innovation is organized by the Association of Carnot Institutes, in partnership this time with Greater Lyon and the Rhône-Alpes region. At the Rendez-vous Carnot, business leaders and developers of innovative projects can meet representatives of the 34 Carnot Institutes, as well as other major stakeholders in R & D and support for innovation in France.
