Results of the CITYOPT project in Nice, or how to reduce power consumption on a city-wide scale
In the winter of 2016, 140 volunteer households in Nice achieved savings of 28% on their power consumption between 6 pm and 8 pm. This is one of the outcomes of the CITYOPT project which tested a “social energy network” to improve control over the demand for electricity during peak hours.
CITYOPT in Nice: the CSTB pursuing the development of smart cities
Focusing more on the city than the building to manage electricity demand. To meet this challenge, the CITYOPT project was launched last February in Nice and will last three years. It brings together the Nice Côte d’Azur metroplis, EDF and the CSTB. This project’s goal is to develop collaborative digital technologies that enable residents to optimize their power consumption. Introduced across the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolis, CITYOPT is experimenting with collaborative power management.
